I'm sure most everyone has heard of FreeCycle, but if you haven't it's a great way to save money and help others who are also in a bind! So you are getting and giving help all in one!
FreeCycle is a free service where you can exchange unwanted things or ask for things that others may not want. I've seen anything from a fireplace to kitchen utensils be given away, so if you are in need of bunk beds why not see if someone is done using theirs first before you rush out and buy them! FreeCycle users usually don't give away "junk" most of the stuff is in good condition.
You can also clean out your home, do a little organizing and clutter repair, and give your unwanted stuff to others who might be needing that bread maker you used once and don't plan on ever using it again.
